There is a silver lining to everything. Recent events have been troubling, but something good has come from them, good for America at least, which is all that really matters.
Scores of manufacturing jobs look to be returning to America from China as manufacturers have become concerned about interruptions in production and shipping. They seek security and peace of mind that they feel will can only come from moving their operations back home.
President Trump has been instrumental in creating this and deserves most of the credit for their decisions. Trump’s rollbacks of labor laws and minimum wages have made it possible for those who had fled overseas for production to finally return. Now, they will be able to exploit workers here at home with the same impunity that they have Chinese workers for the past several decades, eliminating fears of lost profit and reduced dividends to shareholders.
Of course, it’s much more likely that production in America will be entirely automated, with no need to hire American citizens, but at least they’ll be doing it here!
Joe Barron, a spokesman for Acme Industries, shared the excitement his company feels about coming home:
“This is incredible! And it’s all thanks to President Trump! His removal of worker’s rights in America will allow us to use workers as if this were the nineteenth century, a condition of reform we had been demanding for years. No other President has been willing to meet our demands, citing ‘progress’ and ‘rights of the people’ and other such nonsense. They were all socialists.
We needed this to bring jobs back to America. At the new wage rates of a buck or two per hour, we can again afford to hire American without affecting our bottom line. And there will be lots of overtime available for the go-getters in the workforce! It’ll be forced and paid at the same rate, but still, available to all!
It’s a new era in America! Full employment is just around the corner!”
This is incredible news for the Trump administration and just in time for the lead-up to the 2020 election. This should make a second term a lock for Trump.
